Senators Question Use of Park Fees

3 weeks ago 0

Eleven senators have questioned the Trump administration’s use of national park entry fees. They expressed their concerns in a letter to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum on Wednesday. The lawmakers allege that much of the online sales revenue for park passes supports D.C. ‘vanity projects.’

Independent Senator Angus King has joined these allegations. He highlights that a significant portion of this revenue may be misallocated.

Photographs captured construction workers at the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool, symbolizing the ongoing changes and investments in the area.

The senators are insisting on clarity regarding the fee allocation. They demand transparency and accountability, aiming to ensure that funds serve their intended purpose of maintaining and improving national parks.
