Behavioral scientist and author Gad Saad shared a unique story about a late-night meeting with billionaire Elon Musk. Saad recounted his experience during the “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” podcast.
Saad explained that Musk sent him a text with an address in Austin, Texas. This text led him to transportation for a secretive meeting. “I receive a one-line text from Elon at around 9:30 at night, the address of his house in Austin,” Saad said. He described being picked up by a driver who took him through a canyon to an unknown destination. Upon arrival, Saad only saw darkness and a black van.
Approaching the van, Saad encountered security measures. “I walk up to the van. It’s completely different. The door, the window goes down. ‘Name, sir?’ Gad Saad. ‘OK, keep walking up and then there’ll be a gate that opens.’” Following these instructions, Saad met another individual who guided him. Shortly after, Saad had his first meeting with Musk, which he later shared with his wife in a light-hearted manner.
I tell her the story, and I said to her, ‘I think I’m James Bond.’ She goes, ‘I think you’re James Bond also.’
Saad’s insights touched on a broader theme discussed in his conversations with Musk. Musk has shared Saad’s views on social media, particularly regarding what Saad calls “suicidal empathy.” This concept suggests that excessive compassion might weaken the survival instincts in Western countries. Saad discussed these issues on Hannity’s podcast.
He argued that conservatives report higher levels of happiness than progressives. According to Saad, this difference lies in their perspectives on society. Conservatives find comfort in freedom and foundational values. In contrast, progressives wake up focused on societal problems, leading to dissatisfaction.
Saad concluded with a warning about the dangers of what he perceives as ‘parasitic suicidal empathy.’ He suggested that this mindset might lead to endless conflict and strife.
