The nonprofit organization America250, established by Congress ten years ago, is planning a significant concert event in Los Angeles to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. This event, called America’s Block Party, will take place on July 4, featuring the Smashing Pumpkins and Chris Stapleton at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Queen Latifah will host the event.
Rosie Rios, former top Treasury official, and current chair of America250 expressed that the anniversary serves as an opportunity to unite Americans around shared values. The concert ticket pricing is set at $17.76, and additional performers will be announced later.
In addition to the Los Angeles celebration, America250 has planned similar block party events in other cities including Charleston, S.C., Fort Campbell, Ky., New York, and Milwaukee. These events aim to foster a spirit of unity and reflect on the country’s history, aligned with their charitable initiative ‘Giving 4th’.
America250 oversees the official preparation of the semiquincentennial celebrations, a task it has undertaken since before the establishment of President Trump’s Freedom 250.
