Host Aisha Hasnie and Fox News contributor Joe Concha explore the unique cultural experiences of foreign fans attending the FIFA World Cup in the US. Fans are discovering American staples such as Waffle House and Big Gulps, as showcased by viral social media posts. A heartwarming video captures Scottish fans celebrating their team by playing bagpipes in a New England neighborhood.
After the United States secured its spot in the Round of 32 with a second victory against Australia, attention shifted to Scotland, a team that has become popular among American fans. The Scottish fans, known as the Tartan Army, have been lively since their arrival in the US. This marks Scotland’s first World Cup appearance in 28 years, and they began with a 1-0 win over Haiti.
On Friday, the Tartan Army prepared for their second match against a strong Moroccan team, which had previously drawn with Brazil. The game took place at Boston Stadium, or Gillette Stadium. Boston has warmly welcomed Scotland and its fans. Before the match, scenes of Scottish supporters, complete with bagpipes and kilts, added to the excitement.
Even the local ducks in Providence seemed to be part of the celebrations. It’s been noted that these lively displays have made an impact this World Cup. Inside the stadium, Scottish fans sang their unofficial national anthem, ‘Flower of Scotland.’ Unfortunately, their excitement dimmed when Morocco scored an early goal, ultimately winning 1-0.
Morocco, a top contender, now leads Group C, with Scotland in second place. Scotland’s next match is against Brazil in Miami.
