Maryland deputies reported an incident where Ashley Andrews, 30, incited a confrontation with employees at a Taco Bell in Chester, Maryland. The dispute arose over the time taken to receive her food.
Andrews allegedly challenged the staff to “meet her outside,” lifted her shirt to reveal a handgun, and placed her hand on the grip of the weapon. Deputies arrested Andrews on June 18 following these actions.
According to the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff, Andrews exhibited threatening behavior due to dissatisfaction with the wait for her order. She reportedly urged employees to meet her in the parking lot prior to displaying the firearm.
Upon arrival, deputies detained Andrews and another person from her group. Authorities recovered a loaded firearm from Andrews. Surveillance video and personal footage recorded by an employee supported the employees’ claims, as reviewed by investigators.
The incident occurred at the Taco Bell located in the Kent Town Market shopping center on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Footage revealed Andrews exposing the firearm while arguing with the staff.
Court records, cited by Law&Crime, show Andrews was initially held on a $5,000 bond but released after posting bail the next day.
Andrews faces charges including second-degree assault, possessing a handgun, disorderly conduct, and reckless endangerment. As per the sheriff’s office, she is prohibited from returning to the Taco Bell location.
She has appointed a public defender and expressed her right to a speedy trial. Her court appearance is slated for July.
