Real-Time Tracking App for July 4th Flyovers Unveiled

Ahead of the U.S. military aircraft flyovers in Washington, D.C., a new app was introduced to allow users to track these events in real-time. Developed by senior White House official Shawn Chittle, the “4th of July Fly Over” app acts as a guide for those at the National Mall and Washington Monument grounds.

The app’s main feature is an adjustable countdown timer aligned with the flyover schedule. Users can manage the timer if flyovers run early or late. It also displays upcoming aircraft details automatically.

Beyond tracking, the app offers photos, historical context, and key information about the aircraft participating in the event. It serves as a valuable tool for navigating the “Freedom 250” schedule, which includes over nine hours of flight demonstrations.

The app provides real-time flight data, ensuring spectators stay updated with the show sequence.

The flyover showcases begin at 1:14 p.m. with a NASA F-5 aircraft and continue with fleet reviews from various military branches, including the Coast Guard, Army, Air Force, Marines, and Navy.

Notable performers in the lineup include the Navy Blue Angels and the Air Force Thunderbirds, scheduled for 4:59 p.m. and 6:25 p.m. respectively. At approximately 7 p.m., attendees can witness the Air Force One flyover, succeeded by a significant flyover by the newly revamped Air Force One at 7:17 p.m.

The evening will feature a range of stunning displays, starting with a U.S. Stealth Airpower flyover at 7:38 p.m., followed by an F-22 Raptor afterburner at 7:53 p.m. and B-1 bombers afterburner show at 8:07 p.m.

For late-night viewers, a B-1 afterburner night pass will conclude the event at 10:36 p.m. Spectators are encouraged to bookmark the app or add it to their mobile home screens for uninterrupted access to the patriotic festivities.
