Pete Crow-Armstrong Named NL All-Star
Pete Crow-Armstrong, the center fielder for the Chicago Cubs, has been selected for the National League All-Star team. This marks his second consecutive year playing in the Midsummer Classic as a reserve. Manager Craig Counsell praised Crow-Armstrong’s ability to engage fans and become a role model for young players. Counsell noted that Crow-Armstrong’s performance showcases versatility in every aspect of the game, capturing attention without relying on physicality, thereby creating a connection with fans.
On June 30, 2026, Crow-Armstrong hit a solo home run against the Padres at Wrigley Field. After winning the NL Player of the Month for June, Crow-Armstrong added the All-Star recognition to his achievements. His performance last month was one of the best in Cubs history, with a batting average of .381, 11 home runs, and impressive stats across 26 games.
Crow-Armstrong became one of only three MLB players to achieve a calendar month with a .375 average, .775 slugging percentage, 80 total bases, 10 home runs, five steals, and 15 walks, joining Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in this elite category.
Despite narrowly missing the opportunity to be voted as an All-Star starter, Crow-Armstrong finished 10th among NL outfielders in fan voting. His fWAR of 5.2 leads all MLB hitters, followed by Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. Crow-Armstrong’s breakout season last year featured significant milestones, establishing him as a fan favorite.
The 96th All-Star Game will take place on July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Next year’s game is scheduled to be held at Wrigley Field for the fourth time, returning after its last appearance in 1990.
