WNBA player Caitlin Clark publicly addressed an incident in which she was punched in the throat by Phoenix Mercury’s Alyssa Thomas during a game. Clark expressed her frustration that the event overshadowed her team’s performance, while Thomas criticized Clark for not speaking sooner, stating that their lives are at risk.

Amid the controversy, Clark made history on Friday night against the Seattle Storm by becoming the first WNBA player to achieve at least 40 points and 10 assists in a game. She also became the 10th player to score 45 points in a single WNBA game. This performance took place as national discussions regarding her treatment in the league intensified.
