Patrick Clancy, now remarried, testified about finding his ex-wife injured outside their home. His 911 call, lasting six minutes, captured his attempt to prevent her from losing consciousness. He asked about the children, learning they were in the basement.
In the call, Patrick Clancy expressed horror upon discovering the children’s condition. Lindsay Clancy, visibly emotional, listened to this call for the first time in court.
Prosecutors Present Evidence
Before playing the 911 recording, the jury saw the children’s clothing and the exercise bands allegedly used in the crime. Patrick Clancy described finding each child unresponsive, with bands around their necks. He testified about his desperate attempts to revive them.
Lindsay Clancy’s Mental Health
Patrick Clancy described his ex-wife as a loving mother who battled insomnia, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts. Her mental health worsened before the incident. He recalled a disturbing call where Lindsay mentioned hearing voices urging her to act.
Defense attorney Kevin Reddington highlighted Lindsay Clancy’s extensive medication list. Patrick Clancy confirmed she took prescribed medications but admitted he couldn’t verify it each time. Despite her issues, he noted she seemed well shortly before the tragedy.
