Journalist Criticizes Dr. Fauci’s Handling During Pandemic

2 weeks ago 0

Brittney Hopper, a former journalist for CBS News, shared her experiences of facing repercussions after questioning Dr. Anthony Fauci’s actions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hopper discussed these issues during her appearance on News24 in Australia, particularly focusing on Fauci’s repeated invocation of his Fifth Amendment right during a recent congressional hearing.

Hopper recounted her time at CBS News, where she extensively reported on COVID-19. She mentioned the difficulties experienced during the pandemic, such as wearing masks and prolonged school closures. Her skepticism about Fauci’s decisions led to temporary suspension from air, as she remarked, “I started questioning him.” She expressed concerns about mainstream media’s deference to Fauci at the time, noting her role in adhering to the agenda set by her employers.

In her commentary, Hopper hoped Fauci’s reluctance to answer during hearings would prompt a shift in journalistic practices worldwide. She criticized some of Fauci’s pandemic recommendations, such as maintaining six-foot distancing and outdoor mask-wearing, questioning their scientific basis. Hopper stressed the importance of journalistic integrity in uncovering the truth about the pandemic’s management.

In response to challenges from Republican lawmakers, Fauci faced renewed examination over his private diary entries, which appeared contradictory to his public statements about COVID lockdowns. Fauci’s diaries reveal that he advised lockdowns despite denying involvement in those measures in his public claims.
