Mamdani’s connection with Uncivilized Media became a topic of interest following an interview and Instagram interactions with the outlet.

Controversy Over Social Media Links

In 2023, Zohran Mamdani had an interview with Uncivilized Media. Fox News Digital later found that Mamdani continued following the outlet on Instagram until July 24, 2026. By July 27, 2026, Mamdani unfollowed the account, but collaborative posts from his interview remained visible on both Mamdani’s and Uncivilized Media’s Instagram accounts.

Antisemitic Accusations

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and other experts have criticized Uncivilized Media for content that portrays Jews and Israelis in negative stereotypes, including claims of seeking global domination and media control. The ADL cited a video from July 2026, where the outlet accused Israelis of “colonizing the world,” as evidence of antisemitic rhetoric.

“Uncivilized Media routinely promotes classic tropes about Jews,” remarked Oren Segal, senior vice president of the ADL counter-extremism division.

Implications and Concerns

Though Mamdani’s interviews did not propagate these conspiracies, his association with the outlet raises questions among Jewish New Yorkers over his views. Segal emphasized the potential normalization of content by platforms hosting influential figures and urged the mayor to clarify his stance.

“The connections between Mamdani and this digital entity raise questions,” Segal stated, suggesting that Mamdani reassure New Yorkers of his position on Israeli content by denouncing the outlet’s antisemitic spreading.

Mamdani’s Views on Palestinian Issues

In his original interview from September 11, 2023, Mamdani expressed that the Palestinian issue is core to his identity, identifying it as a struggle for freedom and justice. Growing up partially in the Third World, Mamdani’s views on the Palestinian conflict were shaped by empathy and solidarity.

He conveyed that progressive and Muslim views align inherently, identifying as a socialist rather than merely progressive.

Response to Recent Criticism

Mamdani recently faced backlash related to comments regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, denouncing him as a “war criminal” in a public statement. This has sparked fears within the Jewish community regarding their interaction with City Hall.
