PORTLAND, Ore. — On Saturday, a large crowd gathered at an otherwise nearly empty Lloyd Center mall. They came to bid farewell to a cherished local landmark.
Tally and Jerry Leonard first skated at this ice rink in 1967, beginning a journey that spanned six decades.
The couple, along with many others, were drawn to the rink for one last time before its closure.
The event marked the end of two long-standing traditions—both the rink and the community atmosphere it fostered.
