Nick Reiner Charged with Murder in Deaths of Parents

1 day ago 0

Nick Reiner entered a plea of not guilty on Wednesday following his indictment by a grand jury for the murder of his parents, actor-director Rob Reiner and photographer-producer Michele Singer Reiner. The indictment, issued on July 20 and revealed on Wednesday, accuses Reiner, 32, of two murder counts along with special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and lying in wait. Prosecutors claim he used a knife in the killings.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman commented that, “This was a profound betrayal by someone who was loved and trusted by the very people he is accused of killing.” Hochman added that the grand jury’s indictment includes a special allegation about the murders involving lying in wait. He expressed hope that the indictment would advance the case toward trial and justice.

Prosecutors presented the charge that Reiner fatally stabbed his 78-year-old father and 70-year-old mother on December 14, 2025, at their residence in Brentwood. Police took him into custody later that day in Exposition Park.

Reiner is held without bail and is slated to return to court on September 15. A conviction could lead to life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty. Prosecutors have not yet determined whether they will pursue the death penalty.

This situation remains fluid, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
