Ukraine Launches Major Drone Attack on Moscow

44 minutes ago 0

Ukraine deployed over 600 drones towards Moscow during the early hours of Tuesday, as confirmed by Russian authorities.

From Monday evening to 5 a.m. local time on Tuesday, 620 drones were identified flying towards the Moscow region, according to Moscow’s Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

Approximately 180 of these unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were ‘destroyed’ in the vicinity of Moscow, Sobyanin stated. Additionally, Moscow’s regional governor Andrey Vorobyov noted that over 150 drones were shot down surrounding the capital.

The overnight assault on Moscow is described as ‘the largest in the past two years’ by Russia’s Tass state news agency.

Ukraine has persistently targeted Moscow using long-range drones to underscore the consequences of nearly four-and-a-half years of full-scale war.

Russia’s Wildberries online retailer—akin to Amazon—reported that the drone attack caused ‘minor damage’ to a logistics facility in the Moscow region when debris impacted the site’s wall.

Russia’s defense ministry revealed that its air defenses intercepted 791 drones overnight across 15 Russian regions, as well as above the annexed Crimean peninsula and the Azov and Black Seas.

Tass reported that the Ukrainian offensive on Russian territory is among the most extensive this year.

This is an unfolding story; further updates are expected.
