A military judge has dismissed a portion of the confession made by Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who is accused of orchestrating the September 11, 2001, terror attacks. The decision was made on Friday by military judge Lt. Col. Michael Schrama, who determined that certain statements Mohammed made during a 2007 investigation were not given voluntarily, according to a report from the New York Post.
Mohammed, often described as the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks, has been detained at Guantánamo Bay since 2003. This ruling might further delay the extensive proceedings aimed at bringing him to trial.
The case continues to evolve, with further developments expected.
