“She had never spoken at a press conference before. Beforehand, she shared with me that she was nervous. But she told me it was important for her to be there as a UAW member because she believed in using her voice for her fellow members and for working families,” McMorrow explained. “The way you all are tearing her apart… It’s callous, cruel.”
Some critics connected the event to broader discussions about El-Sayed’s support among Black voters, questioning the campaign’s dynamics. Conservative figures commenting online drew sharp parallels between the woman’s speech and El-Sayed’s campaign strategy.
