Harvard University has come under scrutiny for a webpage that lists ‘anti-racism resources,’ aimed at parents of students. The page includes books by controversial authors known for anti-White sentiments.
Highlighted Authors and Books
The list features works such as Ibram X. Kendi’s “How to Be an Antiracist” and Robin DiAngelo’s “White Fragility”.
Kendi argues discrimination is acceptable if it fosters equity, writing, “The only remedy to racist discrimination is antiracist discrimination.”
In the book “White Fragility”, DiAngelo claims, “Racism is a White problem. It was created by White people. It is wielded by White people, it benefits White people.”
Another book included is “Me and White Supremacy” by Layla Saad, which encourages readers to examine their privilege and complicity in racism.
The webpage also features resources like Kendi’s “Antiracist Baby,” intended for teaching young children about antiracism.
University’s Response
A Harvard spokesperson stated that the resource page was developed over five years ago and is not an official Faculty of Arts and Sciences resource.
Controversies Involving Staff
Gregory Davis, a former resident dean at Harvard, was dismissed following revelations of past anti-White and anti-police social media posts.
In a 2019 post on X, Davis criticized, “It’s almost like whiteness is a self-destructive ideology that annihilates everyone around it.”
During periods of civil unrest in 2020, Davis defended rioting as a democratic process and criticized police.
