Linda Purl, known for her role on “Happy Days,” was recently seen in Los Angeles. The actress celebrated her 71st birthday by picking up a cake and groceries at a Gelson’s Market. Purl’s character, Ashley Pfister, was Henry Winkler’s fiancée on the popular sitcom.
Purl’s diverse acting career includes playing Andy Griffith’s daughter on “Matlock” and Pam Beesley’s mother in “The Office.” She has been with Patrick Duffy, of “Dallas” fame, since 2020. The couple reconnected during the pandemic.
In addition to acting, Purl has pursued a singing career. She released an album titled “From My Heart,” featuring classics from the Great American Songbook. She is currently performing in “Crazy Mama,” an off-Broadway one-woman play directed by her former “Happy Days” co-star Anson Williams.
Purl and Duffy also operate a sourdough bread business. They donate profits to combat food scarcity. Their product is available in over 2,300 Kroger stores nationwide. As of this update, their efforts have raised over $200,000 for food scarcity initiatives.
Purl described her time on “Happy Days” as an enriching experience. She held two distinct roles on the show, initially as a date for Richie Cunningham and later as Fonzie’s fiancée. She credits the positive atmosphere on the “Happy Days” set for the lasting friendships she has with her former castmates.
