Two Russian fighter jets, Sukhoi Su-35S models, have collided in midair over the Kursk region. According to Telegram channel Fighterbomber, one pilot was killed while another managed to eject and survive.
The circumstances leading to the collision are currently under investigation. Fighterbomber, a channel that provides updates on aviation related to the Ukraine conflict, initially reported the accident. A subsequent post included an image of the crash site, showing the smoky wreckage of the aircraft, which was widely circulated on social media.
Another channel, Voevoda Veshaet, confirmed the fatality and the survival of the second pilot. The Russian defense ministry has been contacted for further comments regarding the incident.
