Children’s YouTube personality Ms. Rachel, known offline as Rachel Griffin Accurso, is facing scrutiny following the resurfacing of a 2025 video. In this video, she refers to Palestinian photojournalist Motaz Azaiza as her “friend.” This comes after Azaiza admitted to withholding footage of Israeli hostages being assaulted during a Hamas-led attack.
The video, which initially appeared on Instagram, shows Ms. Rachel teaching the letter “M” and introducing Azaiza. She says, “Hi, yes, it’s M, for my friend, Motaz. Yay! Bye!” This interaction gained attention when Azaiza’s actions on October 7, 2023, were discussed.
Azaiza had recorded a crowd attacking Israeli captives in Gaza but chose not to release the footage. His decision was based on the potential identification and retaliation against those involved. He stated his aim was to protect those filmed from Israeli authorities.
Azaiza said, “I did not want to ruin the lives of the people who were filmed.”
Ms. Rachel has previously been active in advocating for Gaza, criticizing celebrities for their silence on Palestinian children’s issues. This advocacy attracted criticism from Elizabeth Barcohana, who accused her of spreading misleading information.
Fox News Digital reached out to Ms. Rachel for comment, although there was no immediate response.
