The Dallas Cowboys secured their first win of the season with a commanding 37-20 victory over the Washington Commanders. CeeDee Lamb played a pivotal role in this triumph.
Lamb, at 27, has already accomplished much in the NFL. He is a five-time Pro Bowler and a two-time All-Pro selection. During the game, Lamb made eight receptions, amassing 153 yards and scoring two touchdowns, mainly in the first half.
“That guy, he’s been amazing,” said quarterback Dak Prescott. “We’re just getting started. He’s got touchdowns in each of the first two games, and I don’t think he’ll stop. His mindset and mentality are just getting better,” Prescott added, expressing excitement for Lamb’s potential.
Following this breakout performance, Lamb faced a surprise drug test from the NFL. Cowboys team reporter Patrik Walker highlighted this unexpected development, noting Lamb’s significant contribution during the game.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones appeared unfazed by the news of the drug test. Instead, he lauded Lamb’s dominant play in Week 2. “CeeDee was driven. He proved what he means to the Cowboys and demonstrated his career potential,” Jones stated.
This stellar performance followed a quieter game against the New York Giants, where Lamb recorded five receptions, 44 yards, and one touchdown in a losing effort for Dallas.
Jake Ferguson, another Cowboys player, also had a good game with four receptions for 43 yards and two touchdowns, though Lamb’s performance drew more attention.
Dak Prescott excelled in his quarterback duties, completing 26 of 31 passes, totaling 279 yards with four touchdowns. He maintained a sterling 83.8% completion rate and a passer rating of 143.8, further contributing to the victory.
