Judge Timothy Kelly and Past Press Access Cases

Acosta was previously barred from the White House after a heated exchange during a press conference with the president. CNN argued that Acosta was denied due process and faced discrimination, similar arguments seen in the current case.
Kelly didn’t provide a written ruling at that time. Soon after his oral ruling, the administration announced Acosta’s press pass would be permanently returned.
