Olivia Rodrigo’s Unraveled Tour and Fundraising Success

4 days ago 0

Olivia Rodrigo kicked off her ‘Unraveled Tour’ with a memorable performance in Hartford, Connecticut. Appearing on stage in a baby blue pleated mini dress, she sang ‘The Cure’ from her third studio album. As she performed in front of thousands at People’s Bank Arena, rain poured down, transforming her outfit into a red latex ensemble.

Following this theatrical display, Rodrigo continued with an encore wearing a tank top and jeans. The set featured hits from her earlier albums ‘GUTS’ and ‘SOUR.’ She expressed her excitement online, saying the first night was magical and thanked contributors like Es Devlin and Hussein Chalayan for their support in the show’s planning.

With 86 shows planned across North America and Europe, the tour will conclude at London’s O2 Arena in May. This tour supports her third album, ‘You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.’

Beyond her tour, Rodrigo has also made an impact through her inaugural Daisy Chain Fields music festival. Held in Irvine, California, the event raised $20 million for women-focused nonprofits. Melinda French Gates matched all donations, doubling the initial haul. Gates praised Rodrigo for empowering women and girls and emphasized the importance of collective dreaming and leadership.

The funds raised at the festival will be split among ten organizations, including Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, and Planned Parenthood. Rodrigo credited Sarah McLachlan’s Lilith Fair as an inspiration for creating this festival.
