Travelers aboard an EVA Air flight were left astonished when a business-class passenger engaged in peculiar behavior during the journey. He was seen using a drinking glass to scratch his scalp, much to the dismay of those around him.

The incident, captured on video, occurred on a flight departing Taiwan on September 24. The man, traveling on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, chose a glass to alleviate an itchy scalp by vigorously dragging its rim across his head.

The “in-seat grooming” was observed by a fellow passenger seated directly behind him, who shared the bizarre moment with Viral Press stating, “This is disgusting. It’s a cup, not a massage comb.”

The video witness lost appetite for the upcoming meal service, expressing concern over potential spread from the glass saying, “No one wants to eat your dandruff. I’m really going to vomit.” Despite the unsettling moment, the flight concluded safely, according to NewsFlare.

EVA Air, established in 1989 and headquartered in Taiwan, was the airline involved. The traveler who captured the event expressed displeasure and labeled the action “disgusting.”

Etiquette expert Diane Gottsman commented to Fox News Digital, “Using a glass to scratch one’s head is completely inappropriate, especially in public settings.” She emphasized the unappealing nature of such actions and advised awareness of the comfort of others.

Incidents of inappropriate conduct on flights have risen, sparking complaints from numerous flyers. One incident on a different flight included a passenger placing their feet on a window, prompting frustration among travelers.

A Reddit user recent shared, “First time experiencing the feet in my face in five years. Travel monthly. In first class, and this lady put her feet on my arm rest. I shoved them off.” Adding, “Five minutes later, she has them up on her window. At least she has socks on. But come on, people! It’s a 4.5-hour flight.”

Gottsman reiterated, “When at home, you are in a private space. In public settings, you must consider others’ comfort and be mindful of your surroundings.”
