Body of Missing Flight Attendant Identified Through DNA Testing

2 hours ago 0

Authorities have confirmed that DNA testing identified the body of Rana Nofal Soluri, a missing flight attendant, as found in a Texas creek. Her former roommate has been charged with her murder.

Identification of Soluri

Soluri, aged 47, was discovered on June 13 by a fisherman along the bank of Brushy Creek, Montague County, around 70 miles northwest of Fort Worth. Her remains were sent to the University of North Texas Health’s Center for Human Identification. Recent DNA tests confirmed the body belonged to Soluri, according to a spokesperson for the Fort Worth Police Department, as reported by NBC News.

Soluri worked for Envoy Air, a regional affiliate of American Airlines. She was reported missing in March 2025 after not returning to work following a minor surgery. Her coworker reported her disappearance on June 11, 2025, after attempts to reach her failed.

Charges Against Dennis Day

Dennis Day, 67, Soluri’s prior roommate, is charged with her murder. Authorities claim Day admitted to strangling Soluri during a dispute. He allegedly dragged her body into the backyard and transported it in a trash bin to be disposed of 70 miles away from their home. Court documents state that home surveillance captured Day moving what appeared to be a lifeless body from the house.

An inadvertent call on another woman’s phone recorded Day asking for help in disposing of Soluri’s body. Joni Thomas, also known as Joanne Walters, 63, was charged with tampering with evidence, accused of assisting Day.

Day’s Jailhouse Claims

While in jail, Day allegedly boasted about his belief that he couldn’t be convicted without Soluri’s body being found. Charges against Day are pending, and prosecutors referenced his jailhouse comments in a notice filed by the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office.

A GoFundMe page describes American Airlines’ involvement in flying Soluri’s remains to Seattle for a Muslim burial on Sept. 29. Her daughter, Lulu Soluri, plans to attend a future court hearing in Texas to speak out, according to the fundraiser.

Lulu expressed gratitude for the support during this challenging time, as noted on the GoFundMe page. The community’s assistance has provided her with considerable comfort.
