Police are actively searching for Alyssa Smith, a 24-year-old woman from Illinois, who disappeared over a week ago. The Palatine Police Department announced her missing status after she failed to return from a trip to Chicago on September 30. Smith was accompanied on the trip by her boyfriend, but he returned home alone, according to her mother, Rebecca Smith.
Rebecca has been using social media to share flyers and posts pleading for Alyssa’s safe return. Her boyfriend, Jacob Ray Caso, also reshared a missing persons poster for Smith, urging her to come home. Caso has not been accused of any criminal activity related to her disappearance.

The Palatine Police have been diligently following leads since the missing person’s report was filed. Reports suggest that Smith might have been seen on October 3 near Grant Park, as well as close to Cicero Avenue and Roosevelt Road. According to her social media, Smith works at a Chipotle. She is described as a White female, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 135 to 140 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes, several body piercings, and numerous tattoos, including a distinctive “Pennywise” clown tattoo on her left shoulder.
