Milwaukee Brewers Push Dodgers to Edge of Elimination with Game 3 Win

52 minutes ago 0

The Milwaukee Brewers are on the cusp of sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers after securing a 6-2 victory in Game 3 at Dodger Stadium. With one more win, Milwaukee will avenge last year’s National League Championship Series (NLCS) outcome.

Jackson Chourio set the tone with a leadoff home run against Blake Snell’s first pitch, and Robert Gasser maintained the advantage by pitching five scoreless innings. In the eighth inning, William Contreras celebrated a crucial single, emphasizing Milwaukee’s determination.

The Dodgers briefly took the lead in the sixth inning thanks to Will Smith’s two-run double. However, Milwaukee quickly reclaimed control. Snell walked Andrew Vaughn to start the seventh, and Jake Bauers delivered a two-run home run after an intense 11-pitch duel. Garrett Mitchell followed by hitting another home run, extending the lead to 4-2.

Additional runs came in the later innings. A wild pitch in the eighth and a Joey Ortiz RBI single in the ninth, along with excellent relief pitching from DL Hall and Trevor Megill, sealed the game.

For the Dodgers, this loss marks a challenging period in the Shohei Ohtani era. The team, known for its resilience, now looks drained, paralleling the 2004 NBA Finals when the Pistons overpowered the Lakers. Observers have noted the lack of decisive performances from players like Tommy Edman and Shohei Ohtani in recent years.

You just gotta win tomorrow, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated, emphasizing the need for his team to regain momentum. Despite the well-constructed Dodgers roster, Milwaukee has exposed vulnerabilities, leaving the Dodgers teetering on the brink of elimination.
