Christian Pulisic, known as “Captain America” for the U.S. men’s national team (USMNT), scored a significant goal in a World Cup friendly against Senegal held at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium. This goal put the USMNT up 2-0, causing excitement among the fans. It was Pulisic’s first goal of 2026 and his first for the U.S. since 2024.

Pulisic’s celebration was a release of emotions. He expressed his gratitude for scoring on home soil and the unique opportunity ahead.

“Honestly, yeah, scoring after a while. But also, just being in the U.S. and knowing that we have this moment in front of us, it’s such a crazy opportunity. It seems surreal,” Pulisic stated.

The match provided a boost to the USMNT’s morale, especially with Pulisic’s assist on the first goal early in the match. The support from fans in Charlotte proved motivating for the team.

Pulisic acknowledged the pressure of playing in the World Cup, especially on home soil. Yet, he embraced the challenge, appreciating his team and the preparation they have undergone.

“Everyone has pressure. It’s in the World Cup. It is what it is,” he explained. “Absolutely am grateful to have this opportunity and be in this moment.”

The USMNT’s goal is to achieve the best possible results during the World Cup, with their next match against Paraguay on June 12.

Off the field, Pulisic’s connection to Hershey, Pennsylvania, remains strong. His partnership with Hershey’s arises from fond childhood memories of the town. Hershey’s is launching limited-edition PULISIC’S Milk Chocolate Bars, reflecting Pulisic’s legacy in his hometown.

“It’s the coolest. I don’t know what else to say. Just being a kid from Hershey, Pennsylvania. Growing up there, living chocolate, breathing chocolate, smelling the chocolate from my house. It’s incredible,” Pulisic shared.

The chocolate bars, featuring his signature, will be available from June 6, with free distribution for early visitors at Hershey’s Chocolate World and Times Square.
