A 36-year-old man was stabbed during a confrontation on a Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line train on Wednesday night. The incident occurred in the Loop neighborhood.
According to Chicago police, the altercation happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. as the train was traveling in the 500 block of South LaSalle Street. The man was stabbed in the neck and the left side of his body with a sharp object.
The assailant fled the scene immediately after the attack. The injured man was transported to Stroger Hospital, where medical officials listed him in fair condition.
Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation into the incident as detectives work to gather more information.
