3 weeks ago 0

The White House responded to criticism from Ariana Grande after the singer condemned the Trump administration for using her song in a social media video. The video depicted arrests by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson addressed the situation, noting, “What’s barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens.” This statement was made to Fox News Digital.

Earlier in the week, Ariana Grande criticized the White House for incorporating her song “Bye” into a TikTok video. She commented, “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. f– ice.” The White House video carried a caption proclaiming, “Bye-bye. President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history.” As of Thursday, the audio had been removed from the video.

In a previous Instagram post, Grande claimed “immigrants have been violently torn from their families, and communities have been destroyed.” Her past social activism includes participating in the Women’s March following President Donald Trump’s initial term in 2017. She has also opposed his transgender bathroom policy on social media.

Last year, Grande shared a protest sign questioning which crimes result in deportation versus what legal issues led to a presidency. This referenced Trump’s conviction on 34 felonies related to business record falsification in the Stormy Daniels case.

Ariana Grande’s political activities have included support for Kamala Harris for president and a performance for former President Barack Obama at a White House event in 2014.

Fox News Digital has sought a comment from Grande’s representatives.
