Burrows co-created ‘Cheers’ and directed 240 of its episodes, earning six Emmys in the process. He later worked on pilots and episodes for ‘Friends,’ ‘Will & Grace,’ and other popular sitcoms like ‘Two and a Half Men,’ ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ and ‘Frasier.’
The director was celebrated for his understanding that great comedy involves humanity and truth, not just humor. His impact continues to be felt through countless artists and audiences.
