Newly released video footage offers a closer look at an incident during a high school meeting in Frisco, Texas, where a teenager fatally stabbed a rival athlete. The evidence includes body camera and surveillance footage, revealing moments just after the stabbing occurred in the stadium bleachers.

Karmelo Anthony, a 19-year-old, was convicted of the murder of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf and sentenced to 35 years in prison. Anthony’s defense claimed self-defense, but the jury did not accept this argument. Following the trial, the Collin County court shared the videos as part of the evidence.

The surveillance video captures a rainy day at the running track with the bleachers in view. A figure in a gray sweatshirt is seen emerging from behind a yellow tent and quickly descending the steps. Although the video lacks sound, it visibly shows him tripping at the bottom of the bleachers. After regaining his footing, the person continues running adjacent to the fencing separating the track.

With a brief stop, he appeared to look back, potentially at someone pursuing him, before moving again. Eventually, he slowed near the track, joined by an unidentified individual. Their interaction included a hug, and they were shortly joined by another person. Following a further discussion, Anthony approached a fence, meeting a police officer.

The officer placed him in handcuffs and led him to a police cruiser. Anthony, complying with the officer’s instructions, appeared distressed and tearful. He repeated, “He put his hands on me,” referring to the incident that transpired. The officers then escorted him inside the police vehicle.
