The Hardy Brothers, known for their daring athleticism, once again showcased their skills in a ladder match at Slammiversary. The event featured Jeff and Matt Hardy competing in a four-way ladder match against teams including Bear Bronson & Brian Myers, Jason Hotch & John Skyler, and Vincent & Dutch.
Historically, ladders have been integral to the Hardys’ success in capturing many tag team championships. On Sunday night, Jeff Hardy turned back time with his performance. He executed a daring Swanton Bomb off a ladder sandwiched between the barricade and ring apron, which was originally set up by Hotch and Skyler.
The Hardys then secured their victory by grabbing the TNA World Tag Team Championship belts from the ladder positioned in the center of the ring. This achievement marks their fifth reign as TNA tag team champions, equaling the records set by Beer Money Inc and The Wolves.
The Hardys’ previous championship reign lasted 265 days after winning the titles at last year’s Slammiversary, before they were defeated by Myers and Bronson at Rebellion earlier this year. With this win, the Hardys reestablish their position at the top of the tag team division. Bronson and Myers held the championship for 78 days before the Hardys’ return to prominence.
