KC Navarro Reflects on TNA Match Against Mentor Amazing Red

KC Navarro recently competed in the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) X Division Championship at Slammiversary. Despite not winning the title, the event held special significance for him. Navarro faced Amazing Red, his mentor, during the match. The experience provided memorable moments and challenges.

The Challenge of Heights

Navarro shared his struggle with heights as he attempted to climb the structure to reach the title. “I’m not a big fan of heights,” he admitted to Fox News Digital. This added an additional layer of difficulty to the Ultimate X match. However, his determination pushed him through the challenge.

“A lot of people don’t know, but Amazing Red was a big mentor for me for my entire career,” Navarro explained. Being part of Red’s first match back was a unique and meaningful experience for him.

Overcoming Injury

Last year at Slammiversary, Navarro entered the event with a torn ACL. He risked his career in a ladder match against several competitors. This year, he participated in Ultimate X with a new knee, despite the dangers involved. He was keenly aware of the risks but remained focused on the opportunity to compete for the X Division title.

Navarro expressed gratitude for the chance to participate in such a stacked match. Being in the ring with greats like Amazing Red, Leon Slater, Fabian Aichner, Frankie Kazarian, and others was a highlight for him.

Mindset and Determination

The wrestler acknowledged his fear of heights as part of his job. Navarro explained how he relies on adrenaline and his strong mental focus to overcome this fear once the match begins. “Having a strong mentality of just knowing that this is what I’m meant to do” helps him perform under pressure.

Navarro remains engaged in a rivalry with TNA world champion Nic Nemeth. Continuing to navigate this feud could propel him further up the TNA roster.
