Hunter Biden Interview Sparks Debate on Financial Ethics

“The View” co-host Ana Navarro praised Hunter Biden as “riveting” and labeled him “the biggest troll” in a recent podcast episode while discussing their 90-minute interview. Navarro challenged the scrutiny surrounding Biden’s Burisma income, contrasting it with the Trump family’s earnings during President Donald Trump’s term.

Navarro criticized the focus on Hunter Biden’s finances, calling it a “double standard” given the Trump family’s billion-dollar gains from the presidency. During her “Bleep! with Ana Navarro” podcast, she explained her interest in interviewing Hunter due to his humorous social media antics.

“I wanted him on because I’ve been seeing his social media and he has become the biggest troll, but he does it also with humor,” Navarro said.

Navarro highlighted Biden’s witty comeback to accusations about cocaine found in the White House, remarking, “And he’s like, ‘No, I would have never forgotten my coke.’” Despite the Secret Service closing its investigation without identifying a suspect, the FBI reopened the case in 2025.

Describing the interview as engaging throughout, Navarro reaffirmed Hunter Biden’s compelling presence. Burisma reportedly paid Biden and Devon Archer $1 million annually after joining its board in 2014 when Joe Biden was Vice President.

Hunter Biden also faced a closed-door House deposition in February 2024 during the impeachment inquiry into his father, although it never led to a full House vote on articles of impeachment. Navarro defended Hunter’s art sales, noting the transactions underwent scrutiny.

The White House rejected Navarro’s comparison between Trump and Hunter Biden, underscoring differences in their business success. White House communications director Steven Cheung commented, “President Trump’s children are extremely successful business leaders… Hunter Biden smoked crack, banged hookers, and sold ugly paintings for hundreds of thousands of dollars. No one cares what he has to say.”

Fox News Digital reported that Biden’s former gallerist testified about a buyer-anonymity agreement taking effect after September 2021, with Biden aware of most buyers. Ten buyers paid $1.5 million for his artwork, resulting in Biden receiving $900,000.

Reportedly, Reuters estimated Trump and his sons increased their fortune by $2.3 billion through cryptocurrency ventures after Trump’s return to the White House. Trump asserted no involvement in managing personal finances.
