Tate Brothers Arrested Amid New Charges

4 weeks ago 0

LONDON (AP) — Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate were detained in Miami on Saturday. U.K. prosecutors have filed additional rape and sex trafficking charges against them.

The Crown Prosecution Service noted that these new charges concern four more victims. They were based on evidence from Bedfordshire Police in southeastern England. The accusations include rape, assault, trafficking, and offenses related to ‘indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.’

With these fresh allegations, the total number of alleged victims in the U.K. now stands at seven. This is part of an ongoing international legal saga involving the Tate brothers across the U.S., Britain, and Romania. Both brothers deny any wrongdoing.

About the Tate Brothers

Andrew Tate, 39, and Tristan Tate, 38, hold dual citizenship in the U.S. and Britain. They’re known for their social media activities that promote wealth, male dominance, and misogyny.

Andrew Tate, a former professional kickboxer, describes himself as a misogynist and has more than 10 million followers, mostly boys and young men, on X. He’s been banned from platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram for hate speech violations. He operates an online academy offering courses on becoming wealthy and attracting women. Tristan Tate has also pursued kickboxing.

The brothers are vocal supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Charges Against the Tates

Andrew and Tristan Tate have faced various charges both in the U.K. and Romania, where they relocated in 2016.

British prosecutors indicated that the new charges correspond to alleged incidents occurring between 2010 and 2017. Specifically, Andrew Tate is accused of seven more counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault, and 19 charges related to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.

Tristan Tate faces one charge of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts related to arranging or facilitating sex trafficking. The Crown Prosecution Service has requested their extradition from the U.S., following their arrest and pending extradition proceedings.

The Tates are already dealing with previous charges of rape, bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain, linked to three other alleged victims in the U.K. from 2012 to 2015.

In June, a U.K. High Court judge dismissed a legal request from the Tates to reveal the identities of their accusers.

In Romania, the brothers were arrested in late 2022 alongside two Romanian women. They were accused of scheme participation involving sexual exploitation of women. The brothers denied these accusations, and due to legal issues, the Romanian case has stalled, although it remains open.

There is another separate legal proceeding against the brothers in Romania. Andrew Tate argues that Romanian prosecutors have no evidence against him and alleges a political plot to silence him.

Presence in the U.S.

British authorities initially sought the Tates’ extradition to the U.K. once Romanian legal proceedings ended. However, in February 2025, travel restrictions were lifted, allowing them to fly to Florida on a private jet.

Romania’s foreign minister stated that a U.S. official from the Trump administration showed interest in their Romanian case. President Trump, when queried about any influence on their release, stated ignorance about the case.
