Investigation Continues in the Disappearance of Lynette Hooker

3 weeks ago 0

Donna Hooker, stepmother to Brian Hooker, made allegations about her stepson in a livestream on the “Surviving the Survivor” podcast. She stated that Brian often lied about various matters and expressed her determination to aid investigators in the search for clues regarding his missing wife, Lynette Hooker.

Lynette, a 55-year-old mother from Michigan, disappeared while on a sailing trip in the Bahamas with her husband aboard their sailboat named “Soulmate.” The incident was reported on April 4, when Brian claimed Lynette fell from a dinghy.

Brian Hooker visited the Central Police Station in Freeport, Bahamas on April 14, 2026, with his lawyer, Terrel A. Butler, to collect his wedding ring and watch. These items were not with him upon his release from detention, where he had been held for questioning regarding Lynette’s disappearance.

Initially, the Bahamian authorities detained and questioned Brian, but later released him, allowing him to return to the United States in mid-April. Despite knowing Brian for many years, Donna revealed at the Tribune in Nassau that investigators have not contacted her, yet she believes she could offer valuable insights into the case.

Donna, who was married to Brian’s father for over 40 years, reflected on living with Brian during part of his teenage years in the 1980s. She described him as quiet and reserved, often staying in his room alone. Despite repeated efforts by her and Brian’s late father, they found it increasingly difficult to reach him through his sister, Jennifer, in California.

The U.S. Coast Guard confiscated Brian’s sailboat “Soulmate” as it was en route from the Bahamas to the U.S. Donna last interacted with Brian in April 2022 following his father’s stroke. Lynette’s disappearance only came to her attention through a family member in Texas, prompting her to watch the news.

Jennifer, Brian’s sister, reportedly traveled to the Bahamas after Brian’s release, but has not responded to Donna’s attempts to communicate. Meanwhile, Fox News Digital has contacted the Coast Guard Investigative Service regarding the ongoing investigation.

Brian Hooker has not been charged with any crime. Fox News Digital tried to reach his attorney for comments. His lawyer has previously stated that Brian has cooperated with investigators. The investigation into Lynette Hooker’s disappearance continues actively.
