The pair agreed to meet on July 21, with O’Brien promising $1,000 per visit along with dinners and shopping.
The Encounter
According to the affidavit, the woman arrived at the meeting with three friends, who waited in the car. During their date, O’Brien gave the woman $200 and took her shopping for lingerie. They had dinner, where he gave her an additional $600. The evening continued at O’Brien’s home, where the woman became uncomfortable and contacted her friends for a ride.
Allegedly, O’Brien asked her to return the money, claiming it wasn’t according to their agreement. The woman, returning to her friends’ car, was pursued by O’Brien in his Ford F-150 truck.
Violence and Arrest
The affidavit states that O’Brien rammed the car carrying the woman and her friends, causing it to collide with a telephone pole. During the ensuing chaos, a 22-year-old male occupant encountered O’Brien reportedly pointing a Ruger semi-automatic rifle at him, demanding he lie on the ground.
