The district confirmed its awareness of the video and emphasized that the views expressed do not reflect their values. Lake Washington School District stated they have received complaints from community members regarding the employee’s statements and actions in the footage.
In the video shared by the Right Angle News Network, the woman, identified as Kelsey Ballin, allegedly a nurse at Eastlake High School, is heard making inappropriate remarks after a reference to Charlie Kirk. The incident took place at a farmer’s market, with others in the video wearing Charlie Kirk “Freedom” t-shirts.
Charlie Kirk was tragically killed on September 10 during an event at Utah Valley University. The school district, encompassing Eastlake High School in Sammamish, Washington, noted the importance of maintaining respectful and civil environments. They affirmed their commitment to a safe and inclusive community for students and staff alike.
The district’s representative stated that while specific personnel details cannot be shared, they are following up on the incident seriously and will adhere to established processes for such reviews. They also highlighted that employees have rights as private citizens, and finding a balance with organizational values is crucial.
