Ohio Representative Max Miller Denies Abuse Allegations Amid Political Battle

Ohio Representative Max Miller has denied allegations of abuse made by his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, as he continues his campaign for the upcoming midterms. Addressing the matter in a livestream, Miller stated, “I’ve been portrayed as an abusive husband, an abusive father, and a violent man. These allegations have damaged my reputation, caused enormous pain to my family, and most importantly, it’s affected our daughter.”

Miller emphasized that his campaign is not only about the Republican Party, but it is also about his family, particularly their daughter. He mentioned, “I’m not getting out of this race, and I’m winning in November, holding the media and other individuals accountable.”

The allegations stem from a legal dispute with Moreno, who has sought a restraining order to prevent further contact from Miller. She claims he harassed her legal team. Despite these claims, Miller maintains joint custody of their daughter and has not been charged with any crimes.

Police reports and court records have surfaced, suggesting instances of alleged physical abuse by Miller, including pushing Moreno against a wall and more. However, child welfare officials found no substantiated evidence of child abuse. Miller has consistently denied all allegations.

In response to these claims, Miller filed a defamation lawsuit against Moreno in May, seeking damages for what he describes as a false portrayal that harms his reputation and electoral chances. Moreno’s representatives reject his narrative of events.

Politically, the allegations have affected Miller’s standing. Democrats view this situation as an opportunity in a district narrowly won by Miller in the past. Some are calling for his resignation or a formal ethics investigation. Despite this, Miller retains backing from Republican leaders, although advisors to President Donald Trump are watching the situation closely.

Miller’s political journey includes his tenure as a former aide in Trump’s White House before his election to Congress in 2022. He and Moreno, also the daughter of Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno, were married that same year.
