Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, known as the Motor City Machine Guns, recently debuted in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) on “Collision.” Their debut took place in their hometown of Detroit. The duo announced their presence by stating AEW is where the best wrestle.
Sabin expressed excitement about their return. “Did you really think we wouldn’t be here? There’s no place we’d rather be than the greatest city in civilization,” he said. “The place we represented for 20 years. Because this is where the best wrestle.”
The Motor City Machine Guns quickly made an impression. After Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, Ace Austin, and Juice Robinson, collectively known as the Bang Bang Gang, won an eight-man tag team match, they were attacked by Clark Connors and David Finlay. Sabin and Shelley entered the ring to assist the Bang Bang Gang and embraced them.
Sabin and Shelley are highly decorated in professional wrestling. Their history includes time in WWE, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), Ring of Honor, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. They have captured tag team titles in each promotion.
Recently, Sabin and Shelley left WWE after nearly two years. Their addition to AEW’s roster strengthens the company’s tag team division.
