Upcoming Changes in Diddy’s Prison Release
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is expected to leave federal prison on February 20, 2028. This date comes nearly a month after the previous release schedule. The Federal Bureau of Prisons announced this revision and noted that Diddy’s release date has shifted multiple times during his sentence.
Incident at FCI Fort Dix
Reports indicate that Diddy was placed in solitary confinement following an altercation with another inmate at FCI Fort Dix. According to ABC News, a fellow inmate’s comment triggered the incident, leading to Diddy’s solitary confinement. It remains unclear whether this affected his release date.
“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not release information regarding the conditions of confinement for any inmate, including housing assignments, nor do we discuss whether a particular inmate is the subject of allegations, investigations, or sanctions,” stated a representative of the Federal Bureau of Prisons to Fox News Digital.
Legal Background
In 2024, Diddy was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges following numerous allegations and the release of surveillance footage that showed the rapper allegedly assaulting Cassie Ventura. In October, he was sentenced to more than four years after being convicted on two counts related to prostitution.
During court proceedings, Diddy faced potential life imprisonment if convicted on charges including racketeering and sex trafficking by coercion. However, in July 2025, he was acquitted of these severe charges but found guilty of transporting individuals for prostitution.
His sentence includes a 50-month term in prison, five years of supervised release, and a $500,000 fine. The prosecution initially suggested a harsher 135-month sentence.
Relationship and Trial Testimony
Cassie Ventura, who previously had a relationship with Diddy, testified for four days during the trial last summer. She fled the country after testifying. Cassie and Diddy began their relationship in 2006, which ended in 2018.
Diddy’s representatives have not commented on the current developments regarding his release or sentence.
