Chabad Combines AI with Traditional Matchmaking for Virtual Dating

On August 9, Chabad aims to hold the world’s largest Jewish virtual speed dating event. This event, featuring 13,000 singles from over 30 countries, aligns with Tu B’Av, a Jewish holiday linked to love and matchmaking.

Participants in the event receive verification from local rabbis or rebbetzins before engaging in one-on-one video dates. AI assists in matchmaking for five rounds, merging technology with human oversight.

AI’s Influence on Dating Challenges

Chabad integrates AI with human matchmaking to facilitate more happy couples. Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, executive director of Merkos 302, explains that the initiative supplements technology with the human aspect lacking in modern dating.
