Cassie Ventura, the singer, left the United States after testifying in the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs last year. Documents reveal she was a key witness in his sex crimes trial. Recently, Cassie filed a motion to move an ongoing legal case to a New York court from California. This case involves a lawsuit against Diddy and his ex-girlfriend by Clayton Howard, a former male escort.
Cassie, 39, was named in Howard’s lawsuit, which alleged “sexual exploitation, trafficking, and abuse” over a decade by Diddy. On May 1, Cassie submitted a motion arguing that the lawsuit should be heard in New York, as many similar cases are filed there. She claimed convenience for witnesses and highlighted New York as the center of relevant events. The motion also noted that Cassie does not reside in the United States, making New York preferable over California for travel.

Cassie stated in a separate filing her citizenship and residence status. “I am a citizen of the United States,” she wrote, but clarified, “I am not a resident of the State of California.” She added that she lives outside the U.S. and prefers New York for future proceedings, citing proximity to her legal team.
Cassie’s representatives did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital. In May 2025, Cassie gave birth to her third child with husband Alex Fine, two weeks after testifying against Diddy. Cassie and Fine, Diddy’s former personal trainer, married in 2019 and have two other daughters.
In court, Cassie accused Diddy of raping her in 2018 after trying to end their relationship permanently. Testifying in May 2025, she recounted physical abuse and forced participation in “freak offs,” where Diddy pressured her into sexual acts while he observed. She sought rehab and trauma therapy in early 2023 due to “horrible flashbacks” during a music video shoot.
She also disclosed expectations of a $10 million settlement from the InterContinental Hotel, where a 2016 incident occurred involving Diddy. Cassie testified that Diddy assaulted her that year after a “freak off” turned violent, leaving her with a black eye. Surveillance footage shown to the jury captured Diddy dragging Cassie in the hotel hallway.
The trial commenced on May 12 and concluded on July 2. Diddy was found not guilty of the most severe charges but was convicted on two counts of transporting someone for prostitution. He was sentenced to over four years in prison and is currently held at FCI Fort Dix, scheduled for release in February 2028. Diddy has been incarcerated since his September 16, 2024 arrest.
