Andrade El Idolo Ambushed at AEW Grand Slam

Andrade El Idolo faced an assault at All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) Grand Slam event in Mexico after securing his spot in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In. MJF returned to AEW programming on Wednesday night and attacked Andrade, who had become the No. 1 entrant for the match. MJF left Andrade injured and announced plans to enter a qualifying match, aiming to become the second entrant. The winner of the Casino Gauntlet match will get a chance at the AEW World Championship.

On Sunday, Andrade showcased the aftermath of the attack. He shared a picture on social media revealing a severe cut on his head, mentioning a possible absence from the ring for a few weeks. “Hi everyone and especially Las Señoritas! I’ve just landed back in Miami, where I live, and I went straight to the DR,” he wrote. “I hadn’t been feeling well since the Wednesday after the Grand Slam, but as a professional, I had two shows in Canada with MLP. I’ll keep you posted, but I have to be out of action for a few days or weeks. It’s nothing serious. Take care! But… I have one question?”

MJF celebrated his attack on Andrade in a later post on X, expressing satisfaction with his actions. “HAHAHAHAHAHA How you know? OH I KNOW HOW IT HAPPENED!” he wrote. Andrade updated on Instagram that he needed six stitches following the incident.

The feud between Andrade and MJF escalated after MJF’s association with the Don Callis Family, leading to Andrade’s departure from the faction. MJF reclaimed the AEW World Championship from Darby Allin at Double or Nothing. Following his loss of the title to Kenny Omega, MJF returned with his personal Triple B title, declaring it the true championship. He is determined to reach All In for another title opportunity.
