Kristi and Steve Goncalves are grappling with the legal proceedings involving Bryan Kohberger, the convicted killer. Kohberger is attempting to withdraw his guilty plea related to the murder of four University of Idaho students in 2022. Kristi expressed her daily battle, “Each morning, I wonder if this feeling will last forever. Will there come a day when it’s not my first thought?”

Kohberger seeks to retract his plea that saved him from a death sentence for the murders of Kaylee, Madison Mogen, Ethan Chapin, and Xana Kernodle. He received four consecutive life sentences without parole, plus ten years for burglary.
