Chrissy Metz Addresses Weight Loss and Criticism

1 hour ago 0

Chrissy Metz recently responded to criticism about her weight loss. Appearing on “The Tamsen Show” podcast, the 45-year-old actress discussed her decision to use a GLP-1 medication. Metz addressed the ongoing remarks about her body.

“It’s not that I don’t have people and naysayers and people who comment all kinds of stuff still to this day,” Metz said. She expressed doubt that such comments will ever cease.

A distant relative recently congratulated Metz on “taking control of your weight,” as weight has been an issue in their family. Metz noted this relative is “an overweight woman” herself, so the comments didn’t affect her as much.

Metz elaborated, stating, “It’s interesting what people say cause would they ever say it to you on the streets? Never. Never.” She remarked on how criticism persists no matter what she chooses to do.

Currently starring in the Broadway musical “& Juliet,” Metz described pursuing her passions despite criticism as “an act of rebellion.”

The “This Is Us” actress also shared insights on using a GLP-1 medication during a conversation on “Today.” Initially skeptical, Metz decided to try the medication after her father passed away due to obesity complications. The medication helped quiet the persistent “food noise” in her mind.

Metz explained, “I know it sounds so silly now, but I’m like, ‘Oh, not everybody hears that all the time? Oh, okay.'” She cited hereditary and metabolic issues as factors that influenced her decision.

Now, Metz is partnering with Ro, a telehealth company offering medications for various issues, including weight loss.
