Allen Robinson officially announced his retirement from the NFL on Instagram on his 33rd birthday. Robinson’s career spanned 11 years, having played for teams such as the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Detroit Lions. His announcement followed a year without an NFL contract.
In his heartfelt message, Robinson expressed deep gratitude for his football journey. He stated, “As I reflect on another year of life, I find myself especially grateful… This birthday feels a little different. It marks not only another year, but the beginning of a new chapter. Football gave me more than I ever could’ve imagined. … It challenged me, shaped me, humbled me, and rewarded me in ways I’ll carry for the rest of my life. I came, I saw, I conquered and I leave with nothing but gratitude. The memories, the relationships, the victories, the lessons, they’ll stay with me forever! Thank you for every moment, every cheer, every lesson, and every opportunity.”
Robinson retired with an impressive record of 565 catches, 7,058 yards, and 43 touchdowns. His standout season was in 2015 with the Jaguars, where he achieved 80 receptions, 1,400 yards, and 14 touchdowns. Additionally, Robinson had two notable seasons with the Bears, both surpassing 1,000 yards. In 2019, he recorded 98 catches and 1,147 yards, followed by 102 catches and 1,250 yards in 2020.
A foot injury during the 2022 season with the Rams impacted Robinson’s performance. Despite this, he retires having made a lasting impression, with one Pro Bowl appearance and a season leading the NFL in touchdown receptions.
