Bryan Kohberger, convicted of the murder of four University of Idaho students, has requested the court to disqualify the presiding judge in his case. He is also seeking a change of venue as he attempts to retract his guilty plea.
Both motions were filed on Thursday by Kohberger’s newly appointed lawyer, Gregory Rauch. The request follows Kohberger’s conviction for first-degree murder.
During his sentencing on July 23, 2025, at the Ada County Courthouse in Boise, Idaho, he appeared following the brutal stabbing incident. Kohberger has now asserted his innocence, blaming his previous defense team for influencing him into a false confession.
This case remains under development, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
