German authorities broke their silence on Tuesday, holding Russia accountable for an attempted drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport in August. The officials stated that this attack on August 4 was part of a broader strategy to weaken European backing for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.
As a strong response, Germany plans to summon the Russian ambassador to Berlin. Alongside this, they intend to shut down a Russian consulate, demonstrating their serious stance towards these allegations.
Police officers were seen inspecting a field at Leipzig/Halle Airport three days after the alleged drone incident. The German government, having initially withheld their suspicions, has now openly responded.
